Politics and the English Language

In the spirit of the previous post, I leave here a link to George Orwell's essay Politics and the English Language, a brilliant writing he did sometime in the mid-to-late 1940s and where, as always, he shows uncanny insight and sagacity by commenting on the connection between the dumbing down of language and the decaying of one of the most important, if not the most important, functions of language for us humans - the structuring of individual thought and ideas, and how it affects politics and benefits politicians. Read it for yourselves here.
